Dear parents,
The boys are not in school but at home with their families. It’s a great time to have short interactive speech activities to enjoy with your little ones as part of the Elocution Class.
So let’s start!

Dear students,

As today is the first day of class let’s introduce each other.
What is the
meaning of the word "introduce"?
It means to talk about one self.

Read my introduction with the help of your parents.

Hello!
My name is Pooja Guglani.
I am 42 years old.
I teach in St. Columba’s School.
I like to write short poems.
My favourite poet is Kenn Nesbitt.

So now it’s time to introduce each other at home with a game.

Instructions to be followed by students.

A.          Passing the toy game
1.   Three or more family members sit in a circle.
2. Pass a toy from one to the other
3. Each person who gets the toy has to introduce himself/ herself and express their likes and dislikes.
4. Don’t forget to encourage and clap for each other.
Have fun!

B.           Time to write and colour!
1. Make or print a card like this
2. Use colour pencils and crayons.
3. Decorate the border the way you wish to.
4. Fill up the card and have fun!

C.           Learn the lyrics and enjoy as you recite the poem with actions.
Poem -I am SPECIAL!

I am special… yes I am! (2)
I am special… as I am! (2)
You are special… yes you are! (2)
You are special… as you are! (2)

We are all made differently.
That’s the way it’s meant to be!
So unique in every way,
Let’s just celebrate today!

I am special…

Different colour, eyes and skin,
We can all do different things.
To be us is truly great,
Let’s enjoy! Let’s celebrate!

I am special…

Hair is curly, hair is straight
Some like pizza, some like cake!
We are all made differently,
That’s the way it’s meant to be!

I am special…
